John Walsh is Managing Director of Breakthrough Change, John began consulting in 1995 after a 20-year career in commercial banking with Lloyds TSB in London. The major part of John’s career was implementing process change resulting in increased profitability for his clients. John noticed that whilst the process was successful the people aspects of change threw up the biggest challenges.
As a result of John’s desire to work more on the people side he formed Breakthrough Change in 1998. Over the past 15 years John and his team have worked with 125 clients supporting them to navigate their way through change. 96% of clients are through referrals, a new client joins us every six weeks over the past 15 years. Key clients are:
- B&Q
- BHP Billiton
- Harley Davidson
- Jacobs Engineering
- Shell
- SNC Lavalin
- Specsavers
- Triumph Motorcycles
- UBS
- URENCO
Our four-part formula is the result of continually listening to client wants and needs, combined with intuitive interpretation and years of experience.
- Induction: Getting people ready for change
- Intervention: Motivating people around the change
- Validation: Check that it’s working
- Cultivation: Continue the process
The process is intelligent and straightforward – a journey for all that is easy to grasp, easy to follow and even easier to live with. Our core competence is to identify the challenges that impede growth, then overcome them by creating the energy and momentum to move individuals and organisations away from old obstructive habits to new behaviours that directly stimulate growth.
Whether change has a positive or negative outcome depends on the people involved. So when we talk about challenges, we’re talking about your people’s attitudes, hang-ups, fears and inabilities that cause the blockages to growth. You will find we have an unusual ability to connect with people – and know how to get the best out of them. It’s about making individuals fit to take the leap . . . and face what comes tomorrow with confidence.
We bring about transformational change on three levels – individual, team, and organisation.
The point is, we love overcoming challenges, creating momentum and stimulating growth. This is because we are passionate about breaking down barriers to progress, in this way helping people move forward with rejuvenated self-belief.
The truth is, we are passionate about people – and the challenges they face.
