Fernando Bolaños has been the Managing Director of Hill + Knowlton Guatemala since February 2008, being responsible for its local operations, as well as the process of expansion towards Central America.
Before joining Hill + Knowlton Strategies, Fernando developed a career spanning more than 30 years in several multinational companies, including 3M, Warner Lambert, Baxter Healthcare, Abbott Laboratories, Gerber Products, American Marketing Association and DIAGEO. His role was as a Country Manager for the Central American markets. Between 2005 and 2008, Fernando acted as Executive Director of the American Marketing Association, New York, in Guatemala, successfully developing the Effie Awards and Marketing Hall of Fame programs.
Fernando holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the "Autonomous University of Central America (Costa Rica)" and a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from "Universidad Francisco Marroquín (Guatemala) - ESEADE". Fernando has also been a university professor in the field of marketing and communications, at the Business Schools of the Universidad Francisco Marroquin, Universidad del Istmo and at Escuela Superior de Gerencia (AGG), all in Guatemala. He holds Guatemalan and Costa Rican citizenship. An experienced marathon runner, having participated in over 10 26.2 mile races in many cities in the United States, Latin America and Europe.
Fernando is currently developing a Corporate Culture practice based in Guatemala City, partnering with Reinicia Tu Mente.
He is certified by OCAI online and its Positive Culture Academy by completing the culture change leadership workshop on May 20th 2020.
