Yiannis Batsis was born in Greece. Prior to joining the HR side of Business, Yiannis was working in Guest-facing roles in Hospitality. When he became a Front Office Manager, leading a team of 17 individuals, decided to switch career path to HR. In 2012, Yiannis moved to Brussels to join Starwood Hotels & Resorts (currently Marriott) corporate office, where he held the role of Talent Development Manager for approx. 260 hotels, 4 corporate offices and 57.000 team members across EMEA. In 2018, he moved to London to join Wyndham Hotels & Resorts EMEA corporate office, as the Learning & Development Partner for the company’s 500 hotels across the region.
Yiannis has conceptualized, developed, launched, and applied numerous Talent/HR Programs many of which have become Best Practices in the companies he has been working for.
Yiannis believes in lifetime learning and self-development; therefore, he is accredited user for several HR and Talent Development tools, as well as certified senior HR professional by SHRM. He teaches HR and Hospitality modules in colleges, and he conducts learning interventions for various public and private organizations and businesses on: Team Dynamics, Leadership & Management, Candidate Experience, HR and Building Culture.
He holds a PGDip in Quality Management and three MSc’s in: Service Management, HR Management & Adult Learning. He is also a mentor for start-ups in educational institutions. Since late 2021, he is based in Athens, Greece although travelling across EMEA for business.
